AVIEON has initially targeted the mushrooming portable multimedia market that is expected to grow to 80 million units per year by 2008 and then experience growth comparable to the cell phone camera penetration rate. Initial customers will be handset suppliers requiring single-chip integration and very low power implementations, including cell phone and other portable companies as well as their ODM suppliers. These companies are experiencing a rapid growth in demand for compute power for multi-standard wireless and multimedia on their handsets with no loss of battery up time. AVIEON meets these needs with their low-cost, low power, highly scalable Neuron MSPs and software solutions.

Future growth will come from other vertical markets that are transitioning to new standards, which require significant customization and ever more computation at ever-lower power. Later customers may include HDTV head-end distribution, printer imaging, and high quality HDTV encoding/transcoding. Head-end distribution sites for cable and video-on-demand are experiencing a crunch in real estate and power density while the ever-increasing volume of DTV and HDTV material requires more and cheaper equipment to prepare it for distribution.
